Prescriptions

Online Repeat prescriptions may be authorised when a patient is on regular medication. If your doctor tells you that you may order repeat prescriptions, you can do this by:

  • via SystmOnline.
  • completing the tear off request form attached to your prescription
  • in writing, provided you include your name, address and exact details about the medication you require.

In all cases the information can either be handed to the receptionist or posted to the surgery.

Please allow three full working days for your request to be processed. The surgery requires two working days to process your request; your chosen pharmacy requires one working day to prepare your medicine safely. Repeat prescription queries are only dealt with between 10:00-12:00, and 14:00-16:00 Monday to Friday.

Prescriptions requests will not be taken over the telephone or accepted by email.

For safety reasons prescriptions can no longer be issued while you wait; you will be advised by a member of staff when they will be available for collection.

We offer a prescription delivery service for dispensing patients who are over 60 and not required to pay for their prescriptions. The delivery service is available in the below locations:

  • West Runton
  • East Runton
  • Overstrand
  • Suffield Road Post Office

If you are not eligible for this, some local chemists will offer a delivery service for your repeat prescriptions, please ask the receptionists. Repeat prescriptions are normally available for collection two working days after the request has been made, this means within 48 hours.

Our Prescription Preparation Process and Common Complaints Information Leaflet is available to view online.

New medicine service

If you are prescribed medicine to treat certain conditions for the first time, the pharmacist can advise you how to use the medicine safely and to best effect. Consultations tend to take place on two separate occasions, and are usually conducted over the telephone for your convenience.

Emergency supplies

If you need one of your regular medicines in an emergency, and you are unable to contact your doctor, we may be able to help. Please note this can only be done in genuine emergencies and it may incur a charge. Please contact the practice for further information.
